Our first day playing in Finnish Snow!

When we first arrived in Finland there wasn't any snow at all, but that changed quickly.  In fact, it snowed the next day.  We have had plenty of snow since then, but it's actually been a very mild winter here so far.  It rarely gets much below -1C (30.2 F) and we have even had quite a bit of rain, which melts the snow.  Right now we have about 5 inches on the ground but it rained a bit yesterday so who knows how long it'll last.  But the next few days look like they'll be colder (in the 20's F) so we shall see.  We like when the snow is around because it makes it seem a lot brighter here.  When our snow was melting, a lot of people kept telling us how much they missed the snow and how dark it felt without it.  I didn't really understand until it started snowing again. It really does make a big difference.  And it's a lot of fun.  Sledding, playing, skating, etc are all fun things to do in the cold and without snow/cold weather, it's a no-go.

Playing outside.  Playground equipment here is still highly functional in the snow.  We love it
